Migrating to Australia: is visa 136 my best option?
Hello everybody,
I am considering migrating to Australia, but I am not sure where I
stand regarding the requirements.
Following is the relevant information for my case:
- owns a bachelors degree in IT
- one year of work experience as C++ software developer
- living in Belgium
- age 25
It seems to me that my best shot would be the Skilled Independent visa
(136). However, that would require me to have at least four years of
working experience. This means I cannot obtain this visa until three
years from now.
My question to the group is whether the 136 visa my best option or if
there is an alternative procedure that would allow me to migrate
sooner.
I have been told that a Working Holiday Visa would get me a foot in the
door. Any hints on that?
All helpful information would be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
Francis

I came over from the UK on WHM (working holiday) visa, got a job offer and then got a 457 through an employment agency (www.paxus.com.au). Currently looking at PR.
My advice is 'go for it' worst case you get try out Oz for a while and go home.
Good luck
