Default Foreigners soon to be allowed to buy high-end apartments

Currently in Indonesia, I picked up on some buzz that the government is drafting new rules that will allow foreigners to own luxury apartments.

Not sure if it will see the light of day or remain this restrictive but it is an interesting development.

Those expats, like myself, have heard this info time and time again but NATO (No Action Talk Only). Indonesians have a xenophobic approach to anything until they are forced to face some facts.
Here is a link to an interview with the chairman of the Real Estate Ass. (REI) reported in today's Jakarta Post...which explains his ideas but he also doesn't know what the government intends to do...or when!
