Default Holiday trip to see the dragons

Hi guys. Briefly popping in from the MY forum. 😃

This year I'd like to take my kids to see the Komodo dragons.

We aren't really into slumming it, and I'd like, if we need to, to take a safe boat ferry with my kids.

Please would you give me your recommendations on how best to see them? Probably traveling KL to Bali first.

Also what's the best time of year to go?

Thanks in advance!

Not sure I'm much help as I've never done it but I've heard the best way is to fly to Labuan Bajo and take one of the many tours. One of my pub mates has done it and highly recommends staying on one of the boats which can moor offshore overnight...I believe that Komodo island doesn't have any accommodation as it's a national park.
I'd check out the many tour operators.
You can also fly KL direct to Lombok and get a tour organised from there but the water trip will be considerably longer.
