My wife took me to a slap-up lunch at a fancy beach resort here in Bali yesterday...it was wonderful and, when she called for the bill, she paid by a voucher she had won in a lottery....and was about to expire.

Thanks for the wishes mikelincs but my birthday wasn't late...been on 3 June for 78 years already although, I must confess, I wish I could move it...maybe back to 1980.... Just kidding.

Also thanks to BEVS...I'm surprised you can live upside-down (in NZ) and still drink your superb wines. Is that why you need a long straw....you bent it so the bottle is upright and doesn't spill...

Very funny stvg1...but, according to many...that's a myth busted.

Anyway, the cakes all gone...some French lady said 'let them eat cake'...and it vanished.
I wonder if Jerseygirl is French...

Pfffffttttt....heavy drinkers....I'm a Yorkshire Lass with hollow legs. Grand Mariner is my drink of choice....large, with no ice. I can drink it all night and remain standing. So line 'em up!

Not French but I love French Onion soup, dauphinoise potatoes and French Baguette...but my favourite is Grand Marnier.
