Default Republic Day

Great celebrations.
Amazing 'floats'--and horses and so much else!

Ten chief guests this year!

The last British chief guest was John Major. (It is a Head of State or PM).

I don't think 'helping' other countries is the idea.

(Hope perhaps a word to Aung San Suu Kyi might do something (if she has any real power?))

The last five chief guests at the Republic Day were all quite substantial and related to Indian foreign priorities:
2014: Shinzo Abe
2015: Barack Obama
2016: Francois Hollande
2017: Crown Prince Al Nahyan of UAE
2018: Ten ASEAN heads of state

UK doesn't seem to register on the radar anymore. Three French heads of state have been invited since Major - Chirac, Sarkozy and Hollande. Putin was the chief guest a few years back, and various regional powers (South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Iran) have had invitations recently.

UK still has 5 invitations, the most of any country, along with France. But the first four were in the 1950s and 1960s, and there's only Major in the early 1990s since then. On the other hand, it seems no German head of state has ever been the chief guest.

"Continents"???? There are religious extremists in most countries-----India with its massive population will obviously have more such lunatics than others.

Did you know that most Hindu temples are run daily by women of all ages? What you are describing is a long ended (by most) rule that menstruating women are 'unclean'.
Have you ever been in an ordinary small town Hindu temple??

Gives a slightly different impression -

The Kerala state government, run by left-wing parties, has sought to allow women into the temple – a position that has drawn the criticism of India's two largest political parties, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

This situation has been going on for some time-----just one temple run by a 'lune' and there will always be supporters whatever the 'cause'.
The Supreme Court has given a ruling that denying entry is unconstitutional.

This is General Election year, all are trying to make something out of it for their own party. Remember until recently Kerala was a Communist ruled State.

So as usual you ignored both the extract & the report as a whole.

Pity we don't have any Indians on here to comment.

What have I ignored? As you can see both main political parties want to keep the Communists out!! Election only 3 months away.
(Indian people in general enjoy a 'good protest'!)

If you had been to Kerala over the years you would see how it has deteriorated as regard infrastructure, amenities etc. leading to change in Government to a coalition. Kerala has had very good education standards but those highly educated tend to move to other States, nurses, just one example.
