Default PIO Card for my wife

Hi,

I am an Indian citizen (with Indian passport) married to a British citizen (of Pakistani heritage). My wife has never had a Pakistani citizenship. Could you please let me know if she can apply for a PIO card? I believe she is eligible under section iii) of the eligibility criteria (married to an Indian citizen with no prior Pakistani citizenship). However, I have been hearing all sorts of things so I just want to confirm.

If PIO is not possible, what other long-term visa options we could consider? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Pakistani heritage seems to cause complications. Most people posting on this Forum do not have that experience.
I think you would find more help on the 'Indiamike travel Forum', 'Visa section'.
There are also some specialist lawyer firms in London who will give telephone advice. They can be found in yellow pages or online.

Thanks very much. Have been trying to register on Indianmike but to no avail. Will check the lawyers.

Thanks again
