Hi to those who know,

I am looking for some information on schooling in the Maldives.

Hubby is currently out there working and my son and I are back in UK. Would like to know if there is schooling for my son in the Maldives he is 8, so we can think maybe about moving with hubby.

I know the Maldives is known mainly for it tourism and fishing so English schools may be a problem.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I just did a Search on here and found one thread in the India section hehe where someone was in the Maldives. You might want to take a look at the link below and maybe tag on to it. I think the thread is still "live".

Hi there, muppet - I see that I'm 8m late with my reply, but if you'd like any info at all, give me a shout.

I wonder how you got on with your move ? Did you come over to join your hubby in the end, or decide against it ?

And just for the record - school kids in Maldives are largely taught in the English language, often by Indian & Sri Lankan teachers. Exams are also sat in English (except Islam & Dhivehi, obviously !)
