Default Working holiday visa with conviction

Hi just posting to try and get a few answers regarding a working holiday visa with a conviction. In 2016 I got a conviction for drug possession no sentence just conviction with a fine. It’s the first time I have had any dealings with the police and none since. I am a 26 year old male with a good background and a good job. I work as a contractor on the bt openreach network in telephone communications. I would love to live in Australia find work and play football/soccer. I am travelling Thailand for a month before and would like to enter Australia around March time. Any help or feedback would be appreciated. Thank you

It's unlikely to be a showstopper but you should declare your conviction on both your application form and your landing card on arrival.

It shouldn't stop you getting a visa, but they will want a statement about it and it will cause the visa to be delayed and you should be prepared that it could take several months to grant.
