hi all please can anyone tell me if its possible to get a visa with a criminal record or recommend an agent who can help please

It depends on the record. If it's something minor that happened once many years ago an application is more likely to be successful than if there is a lengthly record with recent or major convictions and prison time.

its not accualy for me but a friend i luckily had my visa granted this month and my friend and family now want to go hes been to prison for a month 3 years ago and has just had a tag taken off this month as well ( both for violent behavior ) is this definitely a no no ????????

Probably not a no-no, but not a yes-yes either. If his convictions are recent it's more likely to be a problem than if they're old and he can show he's reformed.

I would speak to an agent who is experienced with complex cases. George Lombard in Sydney comes to mind. He comes highly recommended and from what I understand specialises in difficult or not so straight forward cases.
