Default Vetassess - Civil Engineering Draftsperson(Non Relevant Qualification)

I have enquired Vetassess with a below question

"I did Diploma and Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering post my secondary education in India. However,my entire work experience(3 years) is in Civil Engineering as Draftsperson in Singapore. Can I apply for skills assessment in a nominated occupation(312211-Civil Engineering Draftsperson)? Is it possible to gain a positive skills assessment of both qualifications and employment"

Below is the response from them :

/************************************************** *************
Skill Level Description
1.This occupation requires a qualification assessed as comparable to the educational level of an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Diploma, in a field highly relevant to the nominated occupation.

2.In addition to this, applicants must have at least one year of post-qualification employment at an appropriate skill level completed in the last five years in a field which is highly relevant to the nominated occupation. If employment is not post-qualification, then three additional years of highly relevant employment are required.

3.If the qualification is not in a highly relevant field, two years of employment at an appropriate skill level, completed in the last five years which is highly relevant to the nominated occupation is required. This is reduced to one year if there is an additional qualification at least at AQF Certificate IV level in a highly relevant field.

4.A positive assessment of both qualifications and employment is required for a positive Skills Assessment Outcome.

5.I cannot advise you on the likely assessment outcome of your qualifications or if your major fields of study are relevant.
************************************************** **************/
Based on point number 3,I can apply for skill assessment as Civil Engineering Draftsperson. But what I confused is point 4 and point 5 as my qualification is non-relevant. Please advise can I go ahead with my assessment application.

At this point, a formal consultation with an agent might be worthwhile methinks

I'm not sure what you are confused about?

Either they assess your qualification as highly relevant, in which case you need 1 year of relevant post-qualification employment.

If they decide it's not highly relevant, then you need to supply 2 years of relevant post-qualification employment.

Regards,

Richard

For highly non relevant qualification, they require 2 years of appropriate employment. Hence skills assessment can be done regardless of qualification.

Then why it is mentioned that they can't advise whether my major fields of study are relevant.

Is there a difference between relevant and highly relevant in this context ?

They cannot advise until you submit your assessment and they can properly evaluate your qualification.

Same situation here brother, I also completed diploma in automobile engineering from India and being in an occupation of civil engineering draftsperson for last 4 years.
I am also bit skeptical about irrelevance of qualification for this occupation would likely affect assessment outcome. Someone please guide us whether we should apply to vetassess or not.

Well, if you don't apply then your chances of a successful assessment are 0% and you may as well just give up your idea of coming to Australia.
