URGENT: Long stopover at Bangkok through Thai Airways with Pakistani Passport.

URGENT: Long stopover at Bangkok through Thai Airways with Pakistani Passport.
Hi,
I am on PR and will travel to Pakistan through thai airways via Bangkok with my family.
On return to Sydney there is a stopover of 12:30 hours in Bangkok.
We don't want to go outside of the airport but yesterday I have got informed by my friend that we might need to get a transit visa for all passengers in this case as the stopover is more than 12 hours.
this stopover is from the thai airways as there is no other connecting flight through thai for Sydney.
Please suggest whether I need transit visa even if I want to keep inside airport.
Has anyone from Pakistan have come to similar situation.
Please guide me, I will be really obliged.
