TSS visa to Permanent Residency question
Hi all
With the recent visa changes, I am now waiting for my approval on a short term 2 year TSS visa moving from Devon to Sydney.
My employment sponsor has advised me they will look to extend my 2 year to 4 years when the time comes and as long as my skill is still desired.
My question is with the new changes you can apply for PR after 3 years if your accepted on a medium term 4 year tss visa but could I apply after 3 years if I can extend my tss short term from 2-4 years? I can't find any information on this.
Thank in advance

Re: TSS visa to Permanent Residency question
I'm happy to be corrected, but my reading is no, you would need hold a medium-stream TSS visa in order to become eligible for permanent residence. Two short-stream visas back to back wouldn't cut it. Eligibility for each stream would depend on which list your occupation appears.

Have you checked if your occupation is eligible for PR now via a 190 visa?
Occupations on the short term list are not eligible for employer sponsored PR.
