Travelling After Citzenship Granted
Hi,
I have been living in Sydney on PR since 1st August 2012. I qualify to submit my citizenship application next Monday. I believe you can still travel overseas while application is been assessed. Once application is granted is there any circumstances under which travel overseas and re-entry is allowed or must all foreign travel be postponed till ceremony held & passport received ?
My mother is currently un-well and trying to determine if it is best to wait until her situation improves. I also have a job requirement where I need to pass security clearance but it cannot be requested until I'm a citizen.
Thanks in advance.

You can travel at any point during the application process including upto your ceremony date proving you have a valid visa /rrv. You do get asked if you have any travel plans both in the application and at the test/interview - obviously you need to be in country for that as well.
I was concerned when we applied earlier this year as my husband travels overseas with work but there were no issues.
