Student sponsoring partner
Hi all,
I am an Australian born and raised citizen.
I am living here in Australia with my American defacto partner whom I have been in a relationship with for 4 years (we have been previously living together overseas) and who is now living here with me on a Working Holiday Visa
As this visa is due to expire I wish to sponsor him for a partner visa.
My main concern however is that I am currently a full-time student, receiving student allowances from centrelink.
Will this affect my eligibility to sponsor?
Are there any employment/financial minimum requirements?
Does it help if we can prove my partner himself can prove he is well within his means financially?
Thanks for any help!

You were living together overseas in a de-facto relationship and (admit I'm assuming here) carried that on in Australia in a normal de-facto/ domestic couple life.
DIBP could look at that and consider that his intention was to settle permanently all along.
