Default Steps for ACS application / visa application

Hi All,
I am new to the forum and this is my first post here - Could someone please confirm if the steps i have mentioned are correct and in the right order:
1. Get all education documents ready, scan them and get them attested as per requirement (either from Notary, Solicitor etc)
2. Get all Work experience reference letters scanned & attested as above
3. Upload all documents to ACS website (in my case it is ACS as iam applying under ICT Software developer category).
4. Once you hear positive reply from ACS, apply to respective states for visa 489 for state sponsorship. You are eligible to apply for state sponsorship only if you already have at least 60 points.

This might be an incorrect topic to ask a question, please point me to the right direction.
Many Thanks

I've moved your post to it's own thread as it makes more sense.

All the information needed regarding an ACS application can be found on their site. If you follow their guidelines you should be okay. Make sure your references match their criteria.

Do you need to take IELTS at all?

Though i am a British Citizen but just to boost up my points i am planning to appear for ielts. My plan is to at least get 70+ points. Read through the posts and looks like no action has yet been taken for the applications with points 60.

If the duties and responsibilities match that of System Analyst programmer / developer, and that occupation is on the CSOL, then you can apply for skills assessment but you cannot write your reference. You can let your employer know what needs to be included in the reference, and their are guidelines on the ACS site, but they need to write the reference on company paper following those guidelines.

(sorry deleted the lime green for ease of reading)

Wouldn't your employer write the Employer Reference Letter rather than you write it? Irrespective of your job title, you are being assessed on your actual skills and duties.
