Default Sponsoring parents on a visitors visa after a heart surgery

Hi there,

I have a question about sponsoring my parents to Australia. I'm an Australian citizen working full time in Australia and planning to sponsor my parents here on a visitor's visa. Would it be the visa subclass 600 for family sponsorship?

My father who is now retired, recently had a successful bypass heart surgery about two months ago. He has been discharged from the hospital after the treatment and is getting better at home in Dubai. The doctors can probably issue a clearance certificate that he would be fit to travel in a month or two.

About his finances, he is now retired and own a property back home under his name.

Would the Australia government raise any issues or concerns with me sponsoring my father, given his medical condition that he has come out of a bypass surgery two months ago? He is not travelling to Australia for medical treatment, just to visit the family.

I would just like my parents to spend some time with me and the family here.

Please reply.

Thank you.

Guys, not a single reply yet. Anyways, I found the answer to my first question about the subclass visa type for sponsoring family members - it is 600.

Now how about sponsoring my father after he has had his heart surgery?

Has anyone here sponsored a family members or relatives after their operation or surgery?

Cheers.

The majority of people here are from the UK so don't have to sponsor family members. Have you looked on the DIPB website for information?

Not a single reply because when our families visit they don't need sponsoring. Also they have reciprocal healthcare benefits already available to them.

As Dorothy said its predominantly Brits on here - is there not a forum aimed at people from our own country looking for visas? There may be more help there.

Yes, it is a 600 visa he needs. My dad applied for one by mistake (he was entitled to an e-visitor visa) and was asked to have a medical (he is in his 80s but healthy). PM your email address if you want a copy of the letter.
