Red face skilled independent visa without experience

Hi guys,
i have recently completed my MS in software engineering and i wanted to apply for skilled independent visa. upon doing online assessment in which i mentioned zero experience but i qualified for three visa types including skilled independent 189. But during research i came to know that Assessment authorities like AITSL OR whatever it is for IT field. There is condition for successful assessment that a candidate must have 3 years of post qualification work experience so anyone can guide me properly if i still score 60 or more due to other criterion provided with zero experience. Should i go for it or experience is a must even if i qualify without it????????
Thanks in advance,

hmm, if you have a degree in Software Engineering then you are looking at an ACS application. Unfortunately, ACS will require a certain amount of work experience, which will vary depending on how relevant your degree content is to the occupation being applied for.

This can vary from two years to six years (or more)

Then you have minimum work experience to meet state sponsorship requirements (should you be thinking about a 190 for example).

Bottom line is you'll need some relevant paid work experience to make one of the skilled options viable for you in the ICT field.

Of course, if you are willing to undertake further study, you could do a PGCE and then go for a teaching assessment via AITSL. If you can score enough points then you can apply for a 189 via the secondary school category with no work experience. The caveat is that a year is along time in migration and there is no guarantee that this particular teaching option will still be available a year from now.

You get some work experience in your home country and then apply.

As stated above, you need to get some work experience first. Be patient and get a couple of years under your belt.

Depending on your age, there's always the Working Holiday Visa option of course.

That's a shame. In that case, it's time to clock up that paid work experience.

Skilled visa is the best way to go in due course.

Richard

I thought I had read somewhere that the age for a WHV was increasing to 35, so you might be in with a chance for that visa.

And previous posts would suggest that the OP is from Pakistan which is not an eligible WHV country.

The raise in age limit to 35 is yet to become reality. I think it will, but exactly when is anyone's guess at this stage.

Regards,

Richard.

PS Nicky's correct re WHV applicants from Pakistan. If that's the case then it's not an option anyway.

One of my mates (a UK born naturalised Aussie) mentioned that on Facebook last year but when I looked into it there wasn't a great deal of info available.

In any case, the Aussie WHV seems to come with a lot of drawbacks and restrictions attached compared to WHV's for other countries.

The age rise to 35 for WHVs has not happened yet, and there's no solid indication of it happening any time soon unfortunately.

Richard

There's a weird one that allows an up to 35 limit on WHV's for New Zealand but it seems to be exclusively available to UK nationals and unfortunately exclusive to Bunac as far as I can tell.

NZ is a whole different country with its own rules. Why should that relate to Australia?
