Hi members,

I have a situation.I just arrived on 475 visa ,and i want to apply for PR right now as i have complete 60 points for 189 independent PR visa.So is it possible?

Note: At time of my 475 visa application,i received points for 5 years experience. But now i have 8 years of experience ,so i dont need state sponsership now.

i mean i just received 475 visa,according to which i have to live and work in regional area.But i also have 60 points now for 189 independant PR visa? so can i apply for PR now??

Infact i dont want to wait till completion of 2 years of living in regional,before applying for PR independant visa.Instead as soon as my two years will be completed in regional area,i should have PR 189 visa then.

If you want to apply for a different visa and a are happy to spend your money on that why are you asking? I just don't get what is tripping you up here.

As far as money for 189 PR visa app is concern,i have to spend that anyway even after completion of 2 years on TR 475 visa when i apply for PR visa.So sooner is better.

As there are very rare jobs related to my occupation on TR 475 visa in low-population rural areas.So if apply PR visa (which itself takes 1.5 years on average for processing) after completion of 2 years,then my stay in rural areas will be of total 3.5 years.This time period will be counted as my career gap.which is bad

Therefore i want to apply for PR now so that after two year i will have PR visa to work in urban areas.

For this reason, the forum members are requested to advise me whether its legally possible to apply for 189 PR visa while having another visa such as 475 TR visa?

A 475 progresses to 887 which is listed as 6 months processing, not 18 months. The cost of an 887 application is currently $370 for main applicant whereas the 189 is $3520.

If you do apply now for 189, you will need to abide by the current conditions of the 475 if in Australia. You would also need a valid skills assessment, IELTS, etc and you may need to retake these

One more thing.Will i get any bridging visa when i launch 189 visa while living in Australia on 475 visa? And do i get benefits (medicare insurance etc) of PR status after i launch 189 visa from Australia??

As the 475 is a valid visa, you would need to abide by the conditions of that visa I think. It may be worth your time to have a chat with a MARA registered agent who can offer the best advice.

Breaching the conditions of a 475 can lead to deportation and a ban I believe

As i mentioned in start of thread,i am 100% committed to abide 475 visa requirement.However,I just want to get PR status as early as possible.So exploring different options.

No, you won't be on a bridging visa, you will still be on the 475 visa.
