Not sure which visa to go for?
Good Morning
I wondered if anyone could give any advise on which visa we could for, we are eligible for the skilled visa (hubby is a carpenter) this would cost us about 10k (married couple and our toddler). The one concern we have is we go to Australia and we can’t settle or want to come home. Are there any other more temporary visas which we could potentially go on for a trial?
P.s we have all been before and love the Aussie lifestyle so we are not going in blind.

There isn't really a trial visa. You could aim at a temporary visa, but with a family, I wouldn't recommend it as too many pitfalls.
Yes, a visa is going to cost, but it is only a small part of the cost of migrating (Probably less than 20%). If he can qualify now, he should apply now. Yes, there is a risk you end up coming back. About half of the people that migrate from the UK do end up coming back. But that is the chance you take.
Be aware, judging a lifestyle on a holiday experience doesn't equate. For example, many find they work longer hours in Australia and holidays are usually 20 days.

Yes sirree Bob! It's 5:40 am and I'm on my way to work. Along with a train full of tradies heading to the city construction jobs. My neighbour, a carpenter, usually leaves home around the same time I do and gets home around the same time I do (4:00-4:30 pm) due to having to travel to where the work is. 11 hour days are not the best "lifestyle" I can see.

Hi guys, thanks for replying! Looks like it will be the skilled visa then, it’s no problem I was just curious to see if anything else existed for us. The working hours aren’t really any different to here in the UK If anything they are shorter. I understand living there is totally different to a holiday but the Aussie life appeals to us with the weather and the outside active life plus lots more.
