List of eligible skilled occupations
List of eligible skilled occupations
Only certain occupations are approved for use under Australia’s permanent and temporary skilled visa programmes. These occupations are listed in a legislative instrument that contains two schedules or ‘occupation lists’ that apply to different visa programmes.
On 19 April 2017, the:
Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) replaced the previous ‘Skilled Occupation List’ (SOL) and is available in Schedule 1 of the relevant legislative instrument
Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) replaced the previous ‘Consolidated Sponsored Occupation List’ (CSOL) and is available in Schedule 2 of the relevant legislative instrument.

Re: New Skills Lists as of 19th April 2017
I applied in TRA for SOL 342414: Telecommunication Technicians but now the new occupation list I mean in MTSOL & STSOL it is not present. I apllied 15 days ago and it take usually 45 dayes to 60 days to get feedback from TRA so still no feedback from TRA.
Can I ask them to give me SOL 313211: Radiocommunications Technician which are related?
Will they approve my request?
Please guide what else I can do.

He sent off for his skills assessment over a month ago to be assessed as a telecommunications technician, we wanted to apply for Victoria.
Not sure what to do now. We will either re-submit skills assessment as a telecommunications field worker or look at other states. It only leaves NT or Tazmania

You can ask, but TRA will most likely *not* entertain a change of category - they don't operate that way unfortunately.

Edited as I have completely confused myself!
So unfortunately we have wasted our money on this skills assessment and he will have to re-submit and try for a telecommunications field worker, this covers his skills also and is still on the list.

An occupation will need to be on this list to be considered for sponsorship.

ONLINE APPLICATION SYSTEM CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE – 5pm 19 April 2017
This update is to advise that we’ve extended our decision to hold off on processing any new applications.
This is in line with the recent changes to the skilled visa programs announced by the Australian Federal Government. For further information and FAQs, please refer to: Australian Government Department of Immigration and Border Protection
Thank you for your continued patience. We’ll provide further updates as they become available.
How long is this going to go on for????

Maybe I'm looking at the wrong thing then as I'm sure it stated as a telecommunications technician he could apply to NT and Tazmania? I will double check now
