Unhappy My IELTS remark

Hi everyone,
I am very sad to write this letter is that i wrote 11 times IELTS test. I got 4.5 and 5.0 all the time in Reading . However i required 6.0 in reading.
I got 11th IELTS result today
L-6.0
S-6.5
W-6.0
R-5.5
at last i got 5.5 but still its not satisfaction score, i required 6.0. i have 0.5 short in Reading.
Could anyone tell me how to get succeed in this exam.
Im planning to apply for remark for reading module.
can anyone suggest its worth for applying remark for this particular module????

Unfortunately, the reading and listening parts are said to be unlikely to get a different mark. This is because it is mainly filling in words on a sheet of paper. These are either right or wrong, there is no room for individual opinion by the examiner. Writing has better chances, as well as speaking, to be remarked. At least that is what I've heard.

Reading is usually one of the easier parts, maybe you had a bad day. It is important that you learn how to skim read texts (identify information/finding information) and practice, practice, practice. Do you own any IELTS books?

Anyway, you may want to read this page:

The best thing to do is practice, practice, practice. Sorry, but there is no other way.

Have you thought about getting an IELTS tutor? If you have attempted IELTS eleven times and been unable to get the required scores even once, I think you really need a professional tutor.

I'm sorry, you don't want to hear this but not everyone is entitled to apply for a visa or even be lucky enough to be granted one. After 11 times, I think I would say enough is enough. Actually I think I'd have said that after three attempts. Maybe you're just not meant to move to Australia.

I disagree, in that I think that people can do anything if they want it enough.

But there is a degree of effort required may not justify the reward. It's a trade off.

To the OP, you need to improve your English, not retake the test more times. It isn't a lottery where sooner or later you will magically pass the test. You need to study and take lessons. It might take a year or more, but you can get that score if you want it enough and make the right effort.

It's all down to you. No one on here can help you.

Nice thought but I disagree. Some things are just totally out of reach no matter how hard you try. However, if the OP wants to have another go, then I totally agree with your advice to him.

That would only get the OP 4 points for language though, so unless he happens to have maximum points in every other area and speak fluent French, not much use!

Go to more classes, or get a tutor. Read newspapers every day. Try and speak the language every day.

You may also need to seriously think about how you will find work. Are your language skills going to be good enough to be successful in the world of employment?

Right. Ability to use a non-native language is not a gift, it's something that comes with practice & exposure, a lot of it.

I think OP has been trying to beat the test rather than improve his English. To OP, did you give enough time to practice & improve after each failed attempt?

11 times is way too many to get to 5.5 from 4.5. I think you're not learning from your mistakes.

Exactly. It isn't a casino, it's s test of ability. Unless you do something to improve your ability, you will not pass.

But - I firmly believe anyone can do anything. The OP can pass this test if he wants to.
