Migrating to New Zealand

We would like to migrate to New Zealand, however the process seems to be complicated. We
are trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together but we would like to ask if there is
anyone out there who can tell us what steps we should to take and in what order (i.e. 1,
2, 3,...). Also, is the immigration approval subject to a yearly quota (we would be coming
from the United States)?
Thanks much, Ron and Patricia

NZ does have migration planning targets, as far as I know, but there are no specific
targets or limits for particular countries of origin for migrants.
If you are planning on going as skilled migrants, the key issue is whether you pass the
points test or not. To find out more, have you written to the NZ Embassy in Washington DC
- they should be able to send you an information pack. There's also the NZIS website if
you have't already visited it, http://www.immigration.govt.nz
