Member of Family Unit changes on 19 November...

For those who may have missed it, after Friday night (Canberra time) it won't be possible in most cases to add a dependant parent or older relative to a new application. See Member of the Family Unit .

There are some exceptions for those already in a transitional process. Instead of just pasting the table here I've attached it in a word document.

Cheers,

Lots of visa classes are affected by this.

Also worth noting that there are various other changes to booklets and forms around the place as of today.
Partner Visas are one example, the booklet has been rewritten and includes such things as police checks for sponsors, not just applicants. I suggest anyone about to apply re-checks the rules for their particular visa.

We are having a bit of woe sorting out the best path for us. One option is to wait and take up the new pathway for NZ citizens (Skilled Independent 189 (New Zealand) Stream) that opens in July. We won't be eligible until January 2021, which is 2 months after our daughter turns 23 and graduates from her 5-year course. If you were a betting person, do you think they'll bring in some sort of exemption to the <23 for Kiwis on SCVs?
