The long PR wait!

Apart from the obvious sheer number of applicants they have to go through, can anyone tell
me what are the various stages a department has to check regarding a PR visa/ or up untill
they request your medicals? I am baffled why this takes so long. Cheers Jerry

Hi Jeremy,
guess what? I put in my application and all supporting documents including medical....and
still I had to wait 11 months before they allocated my application to a case officer at
DIMA. It is now 7 more days to 12 months. And I will be attending an interview with my
defacto tomorrow (keeping fingers crossed).
As for the question of why it takes so long.....I don't know. It's probably just another
government department taking their own sweet time.
