Hi all,

We are a bit confused about the qualifications required by Vetassess. We are looking at a role that requires a highly relevant Diploma or any Diploma with a highly relevant Level IV.

I understand the AQF levels compared to the UK and realise that a Diploma is a Level 4 in the UK, and the AQF Level IV is Level 3 in the UK.

However, my wife has 2 highly relevant Level 3's, completed the first year of a degree and has a Level 4 awarded by an OFQUAL registered body, but it is not an OFQUAL listed qualification.

I asked Vetassess if this is suitable and they said they compare all qualifications with the AQF, which didn't really answer my query.

We basically need to know if the qualifications we submit for the skills assessment have to be on the OFQUAL list or just issued by an OFQUAL registered awarding body.

Does all that make sense? Has anyone gone through a skills assessment with qualification not on the OFQUAL list and still had them approved?

If it's an OFQUAL listed course, then it should be equated at diploma level, but as it's not, then the qualification needs to be assessed on an individual basis, which will involve them examining the details of the course and the modules.

This can normally only be done as part of the assessment, although their document checking service may also be able to provide an opinion - for a fee.

Vetassess are not going to give you free advice on whether a particular qualification is suitable or not.
