Question HSA Group Sydney

I had my PR visa medicals done last Friday at Sydney HSA Group. I called today to ask when I can expect to receive the report (they'll send a hard copy via post). They told me 15-20 working days. Just wondering if it usually DOES take that long? If they find out any problems in the chest x-ray or blood test, how long does it take for them to call and inform?

Did they tell you if they also send to DIAC electronically?

We are getting ours done on Monday at HSA Sydney and had hoped that they would be ready within 1 - 2 days as that's been reported as the case for HSA Perth.

They didn't say that, but I'm pretty sure they will send it electronically.

I would've hoped 1-2 days as well. 15-20 days sounds outrageous??

HSA paramatta also said they will forward the hard copies to your residential address and you need to forward to DIAC(The doctor there said this). So really confusing if some is forwarding electronically or not.

But some senior people in BE say that doctors forward it electronically..

I applied for 485 visa last year and got a hard copy from HSA Wollongong. But I never got to send it to DIAC, as DIAC got the electronic copy. So I wouldn't worry about that. The main concern is the processing time of the medical finalisation..

For your info, we have had our Medical checks done at HSA office in Sydney (cost $247 each) on 9/9/09 and received the reports back on 25/9/09. The envelopes were sealed and we were not allowed to open it so we included in our Visa application along with Police Check and sent it to DIAC. There is no way that you can get your report within 1-2 days, don't where you have heard that from... If they have found some issues with your health then you will be referred to Specialists then back to HSA at additional costs.. All of this will take more time and more money. We have known a person who has had issue with her Medical check with HSA, spent 6 months sorting it out and ended up spending $1300 for the Doctor/Specialist to confirm that there were nothing wrong with her in the end.

It is best to hope that your Medical check is clear otherwise you will be looking to spend more money to see more Specialists/Doctors to do more tests and months to get clearance.

Hope this helps...

How come yours cost $247? No blood test? Mine cost $287. So you received the report in a bit over 2 weeks then. Thanks a lot. That sounds much better than 3-4 weeks. Maybe in Perth they process it much faster?

I was just in hospital less than 2 months ago so I'm a bit worried about my health. I hope if there's anything wrong with my medicals they could inform me earlier, otherwise this mental stress has been killing me...

Ah well, I did it last Friday, and today's Friday again, and I haven't received anything. I guess it does take much longer in Sydney. And there is no second appointment in Sydney either.

Hopefully not too long...

Totoro as per vopxxx user dates it is almost like 16 days to get the report which falls in the 15-20 days range which they had told you, guess we need to wait till these days as per the calculation, any way do update the thread once you get the reports on hand ... all the best

The Medical reports were hand delivered along with our Visa application Forms to DIAC office in Sydney (Level 2, 26 Lee St, NSW 2001). I did not want to send such important by post as I have had bad experiences with the AusPost system here (things went missing or delayed).

It has been 2 weeks now since our submission and no emails or phone call from DIAC but I am not expecting any responses from tehm for at lest another month as they are working through the backlog.

Sorry, my mistake, our Medical check cost $287 (not $247)...

Thumbs up Re: HSA Group Sydney

I have received the envelope today!

I did the test on Friday, 6 November.

They sent the report out on Tuesday, 17 Novemeber.

And I received it on Wednesday, 18 November.

So it has taken 8 working days.

Not that bad in the end I guess!
