Default How much detail on reference letter needed?

I have a reference letter from my previous employer. (I worked for that employer for one year and for my current employer for three years). All the detail is on the letter, but it states that I was a Java, C and C++ Developer it does not say how good I was at the various languages? For my current job (for the past three years) I will be able to get more detailed letter, but will that do for the one year that I worked at my previous employer?

They dont want to know how good you were at your job just that you have the required qualifications. Mine was 3 lines long. It simply stated that I was a registered nurse at Blah Blah hospital, worked 37.5 hrs a week for x amount of time and contact details of my manager for any enquiries.

Miley,

I have asked this question quite a bit as I was worried about our references. The ACS is different from other assessing bodies and requires very detailed references. If your co. reference is a bit light try and get detailed references from colleague outlining projects you have worked on and main duties.

I have sent you a pm on this also as I manged to get copies of sample letters from another website.

Hey

I am about to start filling out my skills assessment application form over the next couple of weeks and wanted to check something.

The 2 references that the ANMC require from my HR department and my ward manager is there a pe-printed form that they fill out or do i just ask them to write a reference on NHS paper?

secondly the 2 references that i get off them do they send them direct to the ANMC rather than give them to me ?

Finally can i claify that the supporting documents required ie birth cert, university cert ect if i colour scan them am i correct in thinking i dont need to get them certified?

Many Thanks

I doubt you did a degree in C#

For MODL, you will need to send detailed references to confirm your roles in the MODL specialisation you plan to claim experience for. I wouldn't recommend that you send al your coding and analysis stuff to them though.

Regards
Peter

For all MODL letters you need your employer to really detail the duties you performed emphasis on the MODL you have choosen. If they go on about your Java stuff when you are applying for C# then it will take away from your c# case.

Example you are trying to get a years experience in C# from employer A if employer a states you did two projects for them one in Java one in C# then logic dictates for 6 months you are a Java/C# Programmer not a c# one.

Example
Dear TWIMC
In June 2006 Employee A was our c# resource on a online ordering system utilising extensive C# code for the xml pharsing. (Lot more)

This project went till July 2007 where "A" Became the c# resource for a stock taking ....blah blah

In the above case the employer has clearly defined your year in C# from June 2006 - July 2007.
