Holiday and work bisa after deportation from Canada
Hi there, my wife had a refused refugee claim in canada and she get deported more than 3 years ago. We would like to go over to Australia, visit our relatives.work and traveling when we will there.
The questions:
- will they refuse our claim if we put it in to the application?
- is her case can affect our claim?
- after 3 years if we dont put it down to the application can they find out?
Im looking forward to see the answers.
Thank you

The first thing you need to check is that both you and your wife meet the working holiday (417 visa) eligibility requirements, including a passport from an eligible country, age, health and character requirements https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-...#tab-content-0
I don't know whether or not your wife's immigration history would be a reason for refusal of her application. However, both of you MUST provide truthful answers to every question asked in the application, and again to any questions asked by DIBP border officials on arrival.
Best of luck.

A failed refugee claim and deportation from a Five Eyes country isn't going to looked upon favourably, no. However a more pertinent set of questions would be which passport(s) do you and your wife hold, where do you both live now and which visa do you intend to apply for to allow you to work in Australia?

I can't imagine anyone from a subclass 417 eligible country would be trying to lodge a serious application for refugee status in Canada but we'll have to wait and see what the OP comes back with.

We just looked at it from a different angle - I took the view that someone who'd lodged an application for refugee status in Canada would be unlikely to be from an 417 eligible country, hence my questions.
I'll leave the OP in your very capable hands

The OP could possibly be looking at a subclass 462 or maybe holds a different passport than his wife? Need more info!
