Just a quick question for someone who knows..
What does the following mean ?
Class BN Resident P Sub class 136 Conditions Mig.Reg.Sched.8 Initial entry by
08march02 (self explanatory)
As these are printed on the visa and a little clarification just for my own peace of
mind would be nice.
Regards MD

Mark Class BN is the Skilled Independent class. It has two 'subclasses', ie 136 and
also 137 (State/Territory Nominated Independent).
The idea of a visa class as opposed to subclass, is that your application form is for
a visa class, and you get assessed against the criteria for every subclass in that
class. So for example, if you applied for class BQ, the one application form/fee
would cover both subclass 138 and 139 (Skilled Australian Sponsored and Skilled
Designated Area Sponsored).
If a visa class has only one subclass (as some do) it's not an issue.
Conditions refer the migration regulations sch 8, which contain all possible
conditions that can go on visas (eg no work). If you're married your wife's should
have condition 8502, meaning she can't arrive in Australia before you. Principal
applicants with subclass 136 visas who are married normally don't have any visa
conditions, other than the first entry date.

Well done on getting it!
What qualification and skills did you have to have if you don't mind me asking?
John
PS. Don't stay out in the sun too long as I unfortunately discovered... even 2 hours
can be lethal!

Sched 8
Hi
I have just received exactly the same visa as Mark. If it just says "Sched 8" without any longer numbers does that mean i have no restrictions?
Cheers Amanda
Ps Why don't they send you info about your visa when they issue it

hi
i applied in Aug 2001 and received news i had been granted a visa in March this year. i was then given many extensions as i was travelling in South America so couldn't comply with my initial entry date.
however i applied under an IT discipline so i assume i was fast tracked.
