Energy sector in Australia?

Good evening,

I am currently looking into the possibility of moving over to Australia to possibly carry out my trade as a Cable Jointer/Splicer/Cableman? Is there anywhere I can have a look for positions? I am Scottish Power authorised to LV and HV upto 11kv etc.

As I can see from other posts I don't necessarily need to do my trade over there as long as I have enough points? How do I find out the points system and if my trade is in there?

I am considering the project coordinator/team leading route in the energy sector in the future also if anyone has advice on that also.

Thanks for your time
LJ

Google should be able to find you the skills lists, and a points test.

However, one list is here - https://www.legislation.gov.au/Details/F2017L00850

and technical cable jointer is occupation code 342212, assessed by TRA (Trades Recognition Australia)

Information on points can be found here - Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) (Points-tested) stream

Before thinking about jobs, concentrate on obtaining a visa
