E-Visitor Entry with Drug Conviction

Friend of mine is looking to visit us in Australia at the end of the year and will be applying for an E-Visitor visa.

The only thing is in 2013 he was convicted of possession of a Class A drug. Is he like to gain entry with this conviction?

Even with having the E-visitor, there are the visitor cards you fill out upon entry where you have to mention if you have a criminal record.

Is there a chance of him being refused entry when he gets here because of this?

Yes he could be refused entry. Only Australian citizens have the right to enter Australia. Anyone else can be refused entry.

His conviction is fairly recent, and it will depend on what his sentence was as to what he should be applying for visa wise.
