Having assembled all the required documentation for the Skilled-Migrant application, I
have the following question,

Does "official" documentation in a foreign language need to be translated?

These documents are;

Extrait de Casier Judicier (Belgian Police clearance - lived there for a period in past 10
years) Family Book (Spanish equivalent of Birth Certificate - my wife is Spanish)

I ask this because I am sure that this documentation would not change from case to case
and I am sure that we are not the first to apply with these papers.

Any advise would be appreciated.

TIA

Gary.

Hi Gary,

We are never asked to provide a translation of a police certificate, but always requested
to provide translations of birth certificates, marriage certificates, family books and so
on. For cheaper Australian translators, try
http://www.naati.com.au/web_server/info/pdir.htm .

For Spanish, we think Ines Flores is very professional and helpful, and as a recently
retired immigration official, also reliable in providing what the department would
require. Be careful not to seek her advice on immigration, however, because afaik she is
not yet a migration agent.

Cheers
