Default Citizenship - 1 year absence

Does anybody know how the condition for citizenship - max 1 year absence in the last 4 years is worked out? If these stays abroad consist of days and weeks, not one uninterrupted trip, how is it calculated? On days basis or weeks?

Days. Literally any days spent outside Australia are added together.

You put the dates in the calculator. If you fly out on the 24th and land back on the 28th then that would be 3 days in total outside Australia as you were in Australia on the departure and arrival dates.

Hope that makes sense.
