Child born to AUS permanent residents eligible for citizenship
Hi
Myself , wife and daughter obtained our PR on 21 Jan 2010.
We visited Aus for a week in July 2010 to activate our visa.
My son was born in Jan 2011 and we got him a PR visa on 14 Dec 2011.
We all emigrated to AUS Feb 2012.
I believe myself, wife and daughter are now eligible for Aus citizenship.
Question:
As my son obtained his PR later than us, could the situation arise where we are eligible to become Aussie citizens but he is not ?, or would he retrospectively become eligible when we do ? (he is a minor - 4 years old)
Many Thanks

Children under 16 in these circumstances are not subject to the residency requirements if they take citizenship at the same time as you.
My stepson became a citizen when he only had 6 month residency as he was under 16 and included in our application.
