Default Applying for a 601 Visa after using a 600 Visa for a visit.

Hi everyone,

My mother is currently in Australia on a subclass 600 Visa and will be returning to the UK in June this year after a visit of year (helping out with the grand-children - legend!).

One of the restrictions of the 600 visa is that she can't return on a 600 Visa within a six month period after she leaves, however, due to a family illness over here she is keen to come back as soon as possible for a shorter period to help out.

Question - can Mum apply for a 601(ETA) Visa when she returns to the UK in June and then re-enter Australia on that in July (understanding that she will only be able to stay for three months on this visa).

Any advice/experience gratefully received.

Thanks
Dave
