Advice on moving to Brisbane (Accountant General)
Good evening sirs/madam,
I hope everyone is well. I would just like to enquire as to people's opinion on my chances of a successful EOI if I were to apply next year.
By March next year I'll be 29 and have completely finished ACCA including work experience, plus IELTS (academic) hopefully around 8.5. My main goal is to move to Brisbane, although I have a cousin in Sydney currently residing (PR). Could I confirm how successful I would be roughly if I was to submit an EOI?
My points would be:
Age: 30
Education: 15
English: 20
Work Experience: 0 (Accounts Senior 3 years, Accounts Administrator 2 years - would have covered an accountants role but would never have had the title "Accountant" so I don't think it counts?)
Total: 65 points (for a general, not a state sponsored or including family - although I'm not sure if I can because he resides in Sydney?)
Looking around I can see websites stating 65 points and they would be happy to process EOI for accountants in 2018/19 however I have looked in other forums where it looks like it's extremely difficult to get a submission accepted unless you are over 80 points which I'm not sure how you would achieve?
I suppose I could do work experience for a year and see if I could obtain sponsorship but again that would only give me 5 extra points which is still too low is it not?
Is it very unlikely I'll ever get an EOI accepted based on information given so perhaps I should not chase this idea based on the situation?
Any help on this matter I would be very grateful.
Kind regards,
M

Www.immi.gov.au is where to start. Is Accountant (General) on the skilled lists? If so, is it on the short or medium term list? Once you have that information you can start looking at getting a skills assessment and if successful loom at an EOI.
