Default ACS Skill Document

Hi All,

I have a question on the reference letter for skill assessment.

I would not be able to get a reference letter from employer.
However, my employment contract clearly mentions my roles and responsibilities, work hours and location. I do have the pay slips for all the months.

I wont be able to get the reference letter from my supervisor, as I cannot inform the manager on my decision to migrate.

Please advise:
1 . If my contract document and pay slip would be enough for acs assessment?
2. Can I submit a colleague's reference letter, contract letter and payslip

Thank you all in advance.

I think ACS ask for references from employer with very little alternatives - you could try emailing them though as they are usually helpful. What did you supply for your original assessment? Is this to update experience?

Hi Old Sparkles,

My old ACS is expired few months back and I am trying to apply for a new ACS assessment. In the first assessment i had all reference letters from employers.

However I wont be able to ask my current employer or manager to provide a reference as it may affect my job.

As you are linking to a previous assessment, do you need the current employer reference?

ACS can give guidance on points, and DIBP will look at this, but ultimately, DIBP award points and do not necessarily need references when other evidence is available.

However, to answer your question, the only people with an answer is ACS so I would email them if I was you.

Let us know what their answer is as it could be helpful to others in the same situation - and good luck

Hello,

Sorry to be a pain an hijack the thread I have a similar question. Didn't know if to open another or not?

My line manager who i worked with in 2010 has passed away. He was the only technical person I worked with during that employment. However there are more senior non IT technical people who can give me a reference. I have worked for other companies since.

Is this going to be a problem?

Thanks

I believe ACS want a description of roles and responsibilities which your HR dept should be able to provide, or someone else within the company who is authorised. ACS Applicant guidelines (see page 11) - https://www.acs.org.au/__data/assets...Applicants.pdf

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in reply.

As per ACS reply they will not accept contract or offer letter.

Hence I have submitted a colleague's reference letter, and payslip for 1st and last month and ACS accepted it, got positive assessment.

Dorothy,

Thank you for clarifying his question.
"My colleague gave me a statutory declaration which states my roles and responsibilities in presence of a authorised legal person (commissioner of oath)"

This document along with company pay slip worked as my experience proof.

Hope i have cleared the question.
