Re: 489 Family sponsor Visa
For Family sponsors, the designated areas of VIC are the entire state = https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Work/...signated-areas so he would be able to live and work in Melbourne. For family sponsorship, his occupation must be on the SOL

Re: 489 Family sponsor Visa
At this time Family 489 visas are not an option for some occupations - refer to the SkillSelect website under Invitation Round Results. IT occupations starting with 2611, 2613 and 2631 will not get an invitation for Family 489.

Re: 489 Family sponsor Visa
Due to high levels of demand, and in keeping with previous years, the below occupation groups will be subject to pro rata arrangements to ensure availability of invitations across the programme year. SkillSelect first allocates available places to Skilled – Independent visas (subclass 189) and then the remaining to Skilled – Regional (Provisional) visas (subclass 489). If all places are taken up by subclass 189 visas then there will be no invitations issued for subclass 489 visas in these occupations.

Re: 489 Family sponsor Visa
How about "Systems Analyst 261112"? Can we apply for 489 Family Sponsor VISA ?
When applying for ACS assessment for 26112? How can i verify the exact requirements for this category?

Re: 489 Family sponsor Visa
Yes you can lodge an EOI for a family sponsored visa - you are just not likely to get a invite at present. I also think this occupation is at its limit for this year as well as being subject to pro-rata so it's possible no invitations will be issued for this occupation for the rest of the year. Last round cut-off points was 70 so even if he can go independent route, he will need to score very high points.
