So you don’t want clarification of your visa position. You just want to collate a list of people in the same situation? Why?

Well MOzza, I don't need clarification of my visa position, I'm already very aware of that. I'm not wanting a list either. I was just wondering if anyone else finds themselves in this difficult situation, and wanting to share thoughts and feelings regarding this situation.

I don't know of any current forum members in the position, or if they are then they haven't posted about it. Sadly the immigration forum is so quiet these days that I think you are unlikely to find anyone in your exact position (though happy to be proved wrong if there is someone out there!

It sucks, I feel for you, as I do for anyone hoping to get a visa and then failing because of rule changes and the like. But as you say, you already knew the rules and knew there was a good chance you would have to leave.

What is your position though? Did you arrive after the changes announced last April? Or maybe changed employers not knowing there were changes in progress?

I did a search on here when you first posted, and it appeared that you had been living in Australia for around 10 years on a 457 but I guess that's not the case. I did find other people discussing the change to the 457 in late April who were already aware that the residence period was going to increase from 2 to 3 years. If you are already 47 now, is it possible that you will complete the 3 years required before turning 50?
