Hi everyone,

I have graduated from my 2yrs Master course of IT in Australia 6 months ago, and I had a Bachelor degree in Electronic and Information Engineering overseas.
Since I graduated, I have started projects as a self-employed programmer (on both software and hardware) for some Australian clients.

If I wish to apply for skill assessment from Engineers Australia, what occupation would I be located? I wish to have a proper expectation so that I can focus on related experience when writing the report.

Thanks a lot in advance

Explain a bit more about your projects. If these projects were for embedded systems or use for electronics components then most probably you can go for electronics engineer.

Hi intellect20,

I really appreciate your reply.

Is it possible that I will be classified into Engineer Technologist? Sicne I am a mix-type

Or, it doesn't matter since either of these two can help me get 60 points? what about DIAC officer, will he or she view such a change in my development path?

Thanks a heap~

Technologist is a lower level occupation. If you have an engineering degree at bachelors then you can easily get a +ve assessment for an engineer.Check for the occupations that come on new SOL's Schedule 3 and 4 and get an assessment for that occupation e.g., Electronics Engineer. This will give you higher priority when you lodge your immi application.
