Default !!!!!!****Australia****!!!!!!

Dear all,

Australia is very good place to live and work, that is what I heard from my friends, so I'm also planning to move to Australia on Skilled independent visa.

Below is my detail,

Post-graduate degree (non-IT) 1997
MCSE 1999
IT Work experience 06/1997- 07/2003 (6 years)

and my skill is listed in MODL list.

1. Which assessment should I go for?
2. Any impact of deeming date on my experience?
3. Could not be able to collect reference letter from one of my old employer,

a.can I get the reference letter from my x-colleague on company letter head? If so do we need to specify his contact no on the reference letter explicitly as letter head contain only company’s number?

b.Second option, reference letter from client where I worked during that period, will it be valid?

Thanks.

a bit cheeky arent we !!!

I hear at the moment the ACS are accepting MCSE as Group B. So I think you need 4 years experience along with that.

If you are getting a reference from a x-colleague , make sure he puts his position and contact number, along with your detailed job description.

hey,

The ACS guidelines says

"GROUP B - Experience Criteria

Applicants in Group B must have at least six (6) equivalent years of full-time relevant IT professional experience prior to the date of their application for PASA."

Ronnie - pls note that under Group B , one requires 6 years of work experience. PLs dont misguide!!!

1. You can try the ASC of course, but one of my friends was assessed by the IEAust (have a look at Engineer, not elsewhere specializations - in SOL)... He works as a programmer however his diploma states that he's a physicist. I cannot say sth about your MCSE, but I'm afraid you will have to take the RPL...

3. a) - yes, but the letterhead of the reference should be from the company your x-colleague's working for at this moment.

    > 2. Any impact of deeming date on my experience?
looks like you have enough experience (6 years), but you should make
yourself clear that those experience are relevant to IT exclusively.

reference from colleague is fine as long as he agree to, and can prove
himself.

dont think this would be acceptable

If you're finding it this hard perhaps you should vonsider using an agent, even just for the skills assessment. It means you dont have to ask advise of others who may not be in the best position to advise you. Whilst everyone here is very helpful , what guarantee do you have that the info they are giving you is up to date?

Lynn

Guys i'm not suggesting that you are giving out duff info, far from it, but i think if someone has to repeatedly ask questions they should be using an agent!

Thanks Lynn.

I'm not asking repeatedly questions. Do I?
I only want to know that apart from the reference letter from my x-colleague, which document needs to prove him?

Best regards.
