Visa Application Sent - Partner (Provisional) (class UF) (subclass 309)
Good morning all,
I submitted my online application via the Immi website two weeks ago (from London, England), and was just after some stories of other people's experiences with timelines/issues etc.
In short, my partner and I have been in a defacto relationship since Jan 2013. We met, in Sydney, in November 2012 (I was on a Working Holiday Visa, she is Australian). We moved in together in January 2013 and haven't been apart since. She came with me back to England in August 2013, we got engaged in November 2013 and our first child (Chloe, now 6 months old!!!) was born in February...! I know, all very quick right?
We have rental agreements from Sydney dating back to Feb 2013, new rental agreements here in England, birth certificates of Chloe (with both of our names on etc) and have also registered Chloe as an Australian Citizen (so she will not be part of the visa application).
I just wondered how long people have been typically waiting? I know it takes months, and I'm not being impatient, generally just wanted to check how people have found the application process? We haven't been allocated a Case Officer yet.
Hope to hear from anyone soon!
Cheers,
Josh.

Spouse applications from the UK are taking around 8 or 9 months I think going from what has been mentioned on here - plenty of threads on the subject

Thanks for the reply!
Very, very strangely enough; minutes after posting my thread, I had an email from my Case Officer haha!
You are correct, 8-9 months!

Yep, you're unlucky, a year or so ago it was only about 5 months, but now its almost always 9. They will generally sort out the paperwork, ask you for anything outstanding, then just hold the application for a few months as they can only grant a certain number per month.

Yeah that sucks! I've been asked to upload a couple of things, then I have to get medical/police check but not before 15th October. Oh well, it all takes time I guess! Do they ever manage to complete applications before their quoted time, do you know?

They used to, but since about February they have been almost exactly 9 months for grants through London. Thats why they say don't do the pcc and meds yet, its to give you a reasonable time in which to make your first entry to Aus.
The pcc and medical usually have a 'life' of 12 months and you have to enter Aus before they expire.
