I have applied for citizenship on 21-July 14, My PR visa expires on 22 Jan 15.
I plan to travel for a 3 weeks in Dec from 26-Dec-14 and come back by 15-Jan-15 as I have holidays sanctioned by my employer .Question is if I am coming back before my pr expires do I still have to still get RRV as it will be expiring soon? or is there anything i need to do anything before my visa PR EXPIRES?

You will be back before the PR travel expires so no need for RRV. But if citizenship ceremony is before the date of travel you will need to apply for Australian passport as citizenship will cancel PR.

so if my citizenship ceremony is on Feb 1st, from 22nd Jan to 1st Feb, do I require anything between these dates to stay in Australia.

Nope - you still have PR to remain in Australia, just no travel facility.
