Dear All,

What are the work restrictions on 489 Visa. I know that one holding the 489 Visa should only stay atleast for 2 years in a designated area and should work there for atleast 1 year in a full time employment and this employment could be different than the nominated occupation. But if it can be even an odd job? Like in worst case driving a Taxi or may be working as a sales person on store for 8 hours/day ?

The only condition on employment is that it must be full time. If you look at the work eligibility for applying for 887 - http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...ional-area.htm - it's there (the 887 is the permanent visa after 489 requirements met I think)

The work can be in any capacity, so long as it is in the right geographical area and when you come to apply for the next visa you can prove it.
