Default SCHOOLS

Hello there

I was wondering if you could help me. We are due to move to NZ in September 2010 and have a question regarding schooling. My children are 4 and 7 years old - as we are not NZ citizens will we have to pay school fees?

Thanks.

Julie

Default Re: SCHOOLS

If you are on a work visa or work to residence visa then no, your children should apply for student visas and should be granted "domestic student" status so no fees. Schools commonly have a donation system though and that applies to all students.

Normal school starting age is 5th birthday however the only visa I could see that could possibly apply to pre-school age children is the student visa so that is what we have for my 4yr old.
