Partner of a worker visa
Hi all,
I hope all is well.
Me and my partner are looking into moving over to New Zealand. From a lot of research, the easiest way I can see is my girlfriend getting a Working Holiday Visa, and myself getting a Partner of a Worker Work Visa.
We can then sample the New Zealand way of life for a while before deciding if we want to stay.
The reason we would do it this way is because she is 29 and I'm 34, so I wouldn't be able to get a Working Holiday Visa myself.
However, I have seen conflicting information regarding me getting a Partner of a Worker Work Visa. Some sites say that for anyone on a Working Holiday Visa, you can not use a Partner of a Worker Work Visa to accompany this. Is this true?
Any guidance much appreciated!

no you can not up load a partner visa off of a working holiday visa. What are your occupations?

That's a shame. Back to the drawing board!
According to the Occupation list, I would come under Education Manager and my Partner would be under Accountant...

both jobs are on the skilled occupation list, so not really in short supply but it does mean that either of you can get an offer of work from an accredited company and apply for a work to residency visa and the partner would get a visa as the partner of the main applicant but you would need to show at least 12months worth of a committed relationship like joint account/bills etc

Thanks for the great advice MrsFychan. I think that sounds like our best option to be honest. I just had a quick look at the jobs on the Accredited Employers List, and there does seem to be a few on there at the moment which either of us would be able to apply for.
We've been living together for 3 years with a joint mortgage and bills so we would have no problem proving we are in a committed relationship also.
Many thanks
