Sigh...just when I thought things were going smoothly it looks like there's a good chance my application will be getting referred for medical assessment.

I had an eye operation 11 years ago to repair a retinal detachment caused by trauma. I've received no further treatment since and have no ongoing issues and had assumed, as had the doc who did my medical, that it would be passed with no problem...seems not (really should learn not to assume anything)

Immigration has requested an up to date report on my diagnosis, treatment and prognosis from my surgeon and have said that I will most likely be referred to the MA once they receive the requested info. Getting the report should be interesting as I haven't had any contact with my surgeon since 1999 and I'm pretty sure he's not even working in the country anymore as he was due to move to the USA when I last saw him.

Back to jumping through hoops for me!!
