Default Help Needed regarding SMC

Hi folks, i came here with alot of hopes regarding my EOI for INZ. I have gained 165 points on SMC and about to lodge EOI, but confused between my education and experience which is of 10 years. Need some guidance on following points:

Age:
20-39 Range
Points=30

Education:
MBA (IT) completed in 2014, Total 18 years of education, PAR assessed it at Level 9.
Points=70
BSCS completed in 2006, Total 16 years of education, Level 7 as per my understanding.

Experience:
Total 10 years of IT experience in the Systems and Networks Field started in August 2007 and still working.
Points=50
Bonus points for absolute skills shortage=15
ANZSCO Code: 263111 Computer Network and System Engineer
Total Points=165

Now the thing which is bothering me is that NZQA will consider my experience from 2007 because the requirement for an IT specialist is a bachelor degree, and if that so will they give me points for Level 7 degree because I gained my masters later in 2014. Furthermore, if they give my 70 points for master’s degree will they consider my whole 10 years of experience or just the experience post completion of my master’s degree after 2014. Moreover, how will I claim my bonus points for being in Long Term Skill Shortage List.
I would appreciate an expert advice in this regard before staking my money and hopes on immigration.

Hi and welcome

First things first do you have a job offer? This will give you more points and with the current outlook for migrants would be more favourable (even though you have 165) without it.

When it comes to work experience the key phrases are
1.
be in the same field as your recognised qualification, or
2.
in the same field as your current employment or your offer of skilled employment in New Zealand, or
3.
have helped you gain relevant specialist, technical, or management skills and experience.

For example before nursing I was an army medic...this would fall under number 3 as it gave me the basic knowledge and skills that led me directly onto my nursing course.

Quals wise the points will be for your highest level of study

Hope this helps

from what I am reading of the new criteria you have to have a job offer with a salary threshold to claim points for skills.

Requirements to claim points for skilled employment

Remuneration thresholds are now used as an additional way of defining skill.
To be classified as skilled for the Skilled Migrant Category you need to be either;
ANZSCO level 1-3 AND paid at or above $23.49 per hour ($48,859 per year based on a 40 hour week)
OR
ANZSCO level 4-5 AND paid at or above $35.44 per hour ($73,299 per year based on a 40 hour week).

You can only claim for one qualification and it has to be the one closest to the requirement for the occupation.

new info in this link

and the new points calculator with all the evidence requirements supplied

https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-...BR&applying=co

Ignore the minimum bonus points of 100 as you can submit with 100 points but nothing is being drawn under 160 until further notice

Can you throw some light on below passage copied from:
https://www.immigration.govt.nz/abou...tegory-changes

Two remuneration thresholds are being introduced for applicants applying for residence under the Skilled Migrant Category (SMC). One will be set at the New Zealand median income of $48,859 a year for jobs that are currently considered skilled. The other threshold will be set at 1.5 times the New Zealand median income of $73,299 a year for jobs that are not currently considered skilled but are well paid.

Does the above passage means, one must be earning more than $48,859 per year in his home country to be able to apply for NZ SMC?

If I got a job offer outside Auckland I would have 160 points. Would my application be processed due to it being linked to a job offer or does that make no difference because I have less than 165 points?

not sure what the 165 points is about, If you get 160 or over you will be selected. You have no priority over any one else that has been selected.

Dear MrsFychan
I have completed my PAR with application #304552-1, now Im planning to lodge an IQA request but I need to clear few points before hand in order to avoid any delay during my application process in future. As my purpose of lodging IQA is for immigration,
1. Do I have to send any document through post or everything will be done on email.
2. How will i tell NZQA that im applying under LTSSL to get the bonus points.
3. If my qualification awarding institute refuses to send an email directly to NZQA, what should I do in that case.
4. Will I get the assessment result on email or a hard copy via courier/post.
