Yep. Make sure you have all your papers in order and copies/certified copies. You will receive your ITA pack in a few weeks (or at least within 3 months). The more information you have ready the quicker you can compile your submission and take it back in. Make sure you have the required relationship testimonials and evidence as you must prove you have been a couple for at least the last 12 months.
You can take your submission and evidence into the Department of Labour office and leave in the drop box.
Once your submission has been checked they will return your original documents and this usually comes with a covering letter stating that you will be assigned a case officer within 4 weeks and will be contacted by your case officer within 6 weeks of the date of the letter (date your originals are returned).
You then get a letter from your case officer saying whether they have approved your residency. You then re-submit your passports and the 'small' fee to get your PR sticker and RRV sticker.

About proving the relationship between partners...
Is a marriage cert from 12+ years ago not enough?
If our photos are still in the container (when we get the ITA), would affadavits from friends who know both of us do? They were alright for when we got my 10-year Green Card in the US.
