Visa and Passport
Hi everyone I am looking for a bit advice.
I have been in NZ for 2 years on a work to residence visa and my 2 years is up in August. When I will apply for my PR.
I have a few questions.
Well me and the wife having be trying for a baby for the past 10 years and never thought it would ever happen. we found out 5 months ago she is pregnant. She is now 7 months and due in July.
My problem is what is the best solution regarding Visas, passports and registering the birth.
What do I do regarding a visa for the baby if I'm due to apply for PR in August.
How do I get a British passport for my baby.
Will there be any negative points to consider if my baby is born in NZ and registered or do I register the birth in the UK as I'm only on a work visa in NZ.
Will the baby have the same rights in the UK as me or will it be different?
Thanks

Re: Visa and Passport
You may be better off asking your questions about British passports in the immi/citizenship section of the MBTTUK section of the forum. AFAIK, your child will be a British citizen by descent as s/he won't be born there, so s/he won't be able to pass British citizenship on without living there, but no other differences. But the forum pros in that section of the forum will be happy to help I'm sure, and hopefully you'll get your answers here about what you need to do re: a NZ visa for your child.
And HUGE congrats by the way!
